Introduction to Improv

Improv has had a profound effect on Mel's life and way of thinking. In this workshop, she will share the improv skills she's learned in hopes that you will apply them to your day to day lives and face situations with greater ease, confidence and fearlessness of failure. You will learn the core basics of improv, including a quick warm up to get loose, dial into the focus, feel silly and learn to say yes - knowing that there are no mistakes, only opportunities.

I am a 25-year old Torontonian. Like most, I'm still trying to figure out my interests, which makes me passionate about trying new things, learning and meeting new people.

I am a big fan of all different types of music and getting out of the city to enjoy the great Canadian outdoors when I get the chance. My day job as an innovation strategist means I help big companies do better by innovating and listening to their customers. I'm constantly thinking of new ideas - a serial entrepreneur in my head.

About a year ago, I took up improv which has allowed me to change my thinking about situations I previously found challenging, both at work and in general. I am excited to build a workshop around improv and cant wait to share with all the goddesses at the retreat.
